Report from the show

What a super show, this years British Open was.
For those of you who went I am sure you thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of it,  and for those of you who missed it, it is well worth trying to get there next time.

The Whitaker family dominated the classes, all five of them being placed in the British Open Championships,
Robert winning the title he won previously at the first show in 2003, Michael in second, William taking third then Dad John in fifth and Ellen ninth.
It was Williams night on Saturday when he was the only clear over the great Wall standing at 7’2”, the crowd roaring their approval.
Ellen, riding Cortaflex Kanselier took the Winter Premier Grand Prix Championships on Thursday with local lad Keith Shore in seventh place.
Local rider nineteen year old Chris Smith from Mottram also gave a good account of himself being in the placings in the Easy Bed stakes.

Indoor Cross Country saw another local rider Jeanette Brakewell do well, born and going to School in Chorley she rode Over to You into fifth place, (the winner being Song for Gull ridden by Georgie Spence), in the Power and Speed section she was in ninth place with show jumper Dirk  Demeersman .
